David creates plein air pen and ink sketches of iconic destinations and architecture.

He began doing sketches during travels with family and friends. A sketch pad, pens, and a backpack is all it takes, and making the time to sit down in front of a beautiful thing. Likely with a coffee or a glass of wine, drawing what is there, reveals amazing depth of detail. David endeavors to capture the mood, the personality of a place and time, as a memory and a lasting connection to something special. In his art he honors artisans, builders, and creators, whether historical or modern, who fill our world with beauty, character, texture, and wonder. From Rome to Atlanta, Seattle to the Florida coast, David is out there drawing, talking about art, and hopefully selling a few sketches along the journey.
